On September 1, the Seedhouse became a one-day gathering place for everyone who wants to drive real progress for small and medium-sized businesses. 42 startups, four stages, 340 guests, and solutions that are already working today. It was a day that turned out exactly as we’d planned: practical, direct, and to the point.
The innovate! mittelstand is deliberately a different kind of event. Handcrafted and down-to-earth, without grand stage theatrics, sponsor speeches, or keynote addresses. The focus was on the startups themselves: They demonstrated their applications live, dove right into the solutions, and gave honest answers to real questions. No grand promises, just systems that are already in use by customers. It’s this practical focus that brings young and established companies together and turns a single day of events into concrete next steps. By the end of the evening, everyone in the room knew which solution was worth testing next.
Four stages covered the topics currently on the minds of small and medium-sized businesses: customers, teams, and routes on the Lortzing Stage, moderated by Henrik Schober; production, manufacturing, and development on the IHK Stage with Franziska Pellengahr-Gröblinghoff; artificial intelligence, security, and energy on the Steinwerk Stage with Katharina Bode; and the entire food industry on the LI-Food Stage with Christian Kircher. A total of 176 companies from Osnabrück, the Emsland region, Cloppenburg, and beyond attended.
Also in attendance were our partners, the Mittelstand-Digital Center Lingen.Münster.Osnabrück and LI Food—the Lower Saxony State Initiative for the Food Industry—who helped organize the event with us on-site. The event was also made possible by the support of our downtown neighbors. The day was also made possible by our neighbours in the city centre. The Katharinenkirche opened its parish hall, the IHK Osnabrück – Emsland – Grafschaft Bentheim its large assembly hall and the Freemasons' Lodge its temple. In this way, the Seedhouse and its neighboring buildings came together as a single shared space for the day—for which we are very grateful.
We’re taking a lot away from this day: new connections, fresh ideas, and plenty of energy. And one thing is already certain: we’re already looking forward to the next innovate!
