What it's about
Seedalive makes it possible to reliably determine the quality of seeds within four hours. This not only saves 99% time, but also 99% energy. But let's start from the beginning. Plants and seeds are the beginning of everything, and no seed producer, conditioner, breeder or farmer has an interest in producing bad seed or even planting it in the field and risking a bad harvest. This is why the quality of seeds is so important and is always determined in advance.
In our dynamic bioassay, the seeds are incubated for four hours. Depending on the vitality of the seed, a colour change is induced. We correlate the colour change of the individual seed with the actual germination using AI methods and can thus determine the germination success and the germination speed.
The product is a test kit with which the customer carries out the test on their own premises. They are provided with step-by-step instructions, followed by an automated evaluation, so that the result appears directly in their e-mail inbox.
Our patented technology not only increases the efficiency of the seed laboratory, but also offers a quick, simple and objective method for testing seed quality.
The team
Who is behind it
Our team consists of a total of 12 people, 6 of whom are permanent employees.
The inventor and co-founder, Prof Dr Klaus Mummenhoff, developed the idea and has experience in the field of science.
Jens Varnskühler is the CEO and co-founder. With over 20 years of experience in horticulture worldwide, he brings the tools of the trade to the table. His motto: "Do it, just do it"!
With her open and communicative manner, Franziska Gröne is our contact person for customers. She is building up the Marketing and Sales department.
Konrad Wellmann stayed in Osnabrück after completing his Master's degree and is quenching his thirst for knowledge in research and development.
Dr Katja Sperber has taken over the position of laboratory manager and is our calming influence in the group.
Tiziana Maia Laudani is our newest addition. She works in the back office and has our backs.
