What it's about

phagos is a French biotechnology start-up founded in 2021. It is developing a sustainable alternative to antibiotics based on the natural predator of bacteria, the bacteriophage. With over EUR 5 million in funding from both the public (BPIFrance) and private sectors (Hoxton Ventures, Demeter, Entrepreneur First, Agfunder, Dhyan VC), phagos has developed a scalable personalised phage therapy platform to spread its solution worldwide.

Who is behind it

Adèle James is a leading expert in phage ecology and holds a PhD in molecular microbiology from Sorbonne University. Alexandros Pantalis is a tech entrepreneur who has founded four start-ups and holds a Grande Ecole Master in Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris.
