The idea
What it's about

Farmstarter's technology makes it possible to transform waste streams at the point of origin. With a fully automated insect bioreactor, a decentralised upcycling of organic residues takes place in just a few days. The output from the plant is gradually converted into higher-value materials. For example, unsold vegetables are initially turned into agricultural fertiliser, protein adhesives, chitin from the pupae skins of insects and later Chitosan for use as an antibacterial coating in various industries. An innovative further step in Upcyling can even bind CO2 in the soil in the long term. The bioreactor has a modular design and can be easily integrated into existing infrastructures via Plug&Play.

The team
Who is behind it

Farmstarter brings together visionaries and founders with good ideas to form a team. Each and every one of them contributes key competences that help to drive innovative technologies forward.

In Tim from Seedhouse, we have found a sparring partner who is detached but at the same time very close. He has an eye for the "big thing" and enough distance to solve small problems.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR
 Support

Agriculture and the food industry are the first partners, but other fields of activity, particularly in the area of upcycling, are exciting development topics. The team is open to further collaborations and ideas for joint product development.
