The idea
What it's about
Healing our soils and safeguarding them for future generations is our mission. To this end, we are researching the soil microbiome in order to develop data-driven approaches and products for long-term soil improvement. The aim is to accelerate natural processes in the soil and counteract degradation. The soil structure is sustainably upgraded and becomes a natural carbon and water reservoir. This takes place independently of the location and is needs-orientated.

Who is behind it
Dr Julia Köhn, philosopher, economist and serial founder, launched a FoodTech start-up in 2018. She was joined by Lea Zerbst, a business economist, and together they developed a SaaS solution for direct food marketing. With DeepSoil, they are now addressing soil degradation. Experienced biotechnologists and agronomists are providing support with their expertise.
As part of the HTI, we were able to verify our hypotheses and develop scalable prototypes. Thanks to the support of the Seedhouse, we were able to accelerate our research work and find valuable network partners.
